The Thousand Acres Lakeside Golf Club, Inc. (TALGC) is a private
club located within the Thousand Acres at Deep Creek Lake subdivision
(TADCL). All residents of TADCL are regular
golf members of the Thousand Acres Lakeside Golf Club. For TADCL
residents, Golf Club membership is bundled with the purchase of each
building lot and is not separable.
The Thousand Acres Lakeside Golf Club will build,
maintain, and operate the golf course, associated facilities, and all
related amenities on the extensive 570-acre grounds of the lakeside
golf community that is Thousand Acres at Deep Creek Lake. The golf
course has been designed personally by Craig Schreiner, ASGCA, ASLA.
Craig is President of Schreiner Golf, Inc.,
a golf course architectural firm based in Myrtle Beach , SC. For over
twenty years, he has consulted on the design and development of new
golf courses and the restoration of private and public courses
throughout the United States and abroad. Many of his works have been
recognized by GOLF DIGEST and GOLF MAGAZINE as well as regional golf
publications. Craig's comprehensive design and construction background,
along with his experience and ingenuity, have made him one of the
consummate golf course architects in the nation. Craig emphasizes
strategic design values, blending classic golf course architecture with
the environment, accentuating nature's beauty and unique harmony with
his creative use of turfgrass.
The golf course has been designed as an 18-hole
championship facility that will occupy the wooded terrain above a
magnificent, picturesque setting nestled within the Appalaichan
Mountains of western Maryland. Overlooking the southern portion of
beautiful Deep Creek Lake, the course will be enhanced by the many
dramatic vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains. Designed to
maintain the secluded character of the beautifully-wooded residential
property, the course will be bordered on every hole by native wetlands
and forests that also provide unique views from all surrounding
residential properties. Each hole is unique, with strategic
architecture offering different routes to the greens. The front and
back nines are located among very different and distinct terrain
features, while the finishing holes on each nine will both challenge
and delight golfers with the magnificent views each setting offers.
